The Value of Communication

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about communication. At work, we recently had a management training preparing us to get ready for quarter four, and the topic was on delivering clear communication. This had me thinking about my own journey with communication, and how I use it to grow and develop my team.

We started the training by talking about how valuable communication is for leading a successful business. It allows you to develop team members and help them understand what is asked of them and expected of them. We also talked about how you need to make sure that they understand your communication. This means that you need to match their energy, and knowledge.

When you create and foster healthy, uplifting dialogue in your teams, then you are more likely to thrive as a store. This is something that I have seen first hand with my team. Since learning how important communication is for me, I have started to teach my team about the importance of communication as well.

We do daily team huddles, where we talk about things that are going well for each other, both in work and outside of work. We also tend to work together, where we are able to get to know each other and create strong relationships. Along with this, I ask my teach a lot of questions to see where their understanding is at. This has created an open dialogue where they feel comfortable asking me questions about things they don’t understand.

This has been beneficial to us as a team, in creating healthy relationships with each other, as well as creating an atmosphere were communication is encouraged. This allows us to run smoothly as a team, and ultimately helps us reach our goals.
