The Future

Now that my final semester of my undergraduate wraps up, the question that is on everyone’s mind is this: “what are you going to do next?”

I think that this is an important question, but also a scary one. Who knows what’s next? The whole world is my oyster. I think that looking at this semester, it was maybe the most important semester of my college experience. For me, this semester was important for learning about the Public Relations industry. I learned that I want to pursue a career in this industry. For me, my dream PR role is being a social media manager for Glossier.

After this semester, I have learned that in order to get to this dream I need to do a couple of things that I am excited about. I am going to be taking another semester in the spring to help with UVU Comm Week and the Comm Department's social media. I am so excited about this. After this, I am going to be taking a gap year to prepare for graduate school. I still haven’t decided whether or not I want to get a master’s in communication or a master’s in business administration.

As for what I am going to do in the gap year, and the years after my master’s, I have no idea. I think that is the exciting part of life. Nothing is planned, life just gets to be, and I get to go wherever it takes me. How exciting!?!

No matter what happens after college, I know that I am set up for success because of the things that I learned during my time at UVU.
