Today is a full moon. If any of you are into astrology like I am, you know that this full moon is in alignment with Mars. Mars is the planet of aggression and rules your violent side. This means that people are going to be more aggressive and passive-aggressive this week. I think that is interesting.
A lot of people like to tell me that there is no truth in astrology. That you can’t be determined by the stars. I just let people talk and take it. I, however, believe in astrology. My belief really comes from my testimony. If you look at the birth of Christ, there is so much talk about the stars in the sky on the night that Christ was born. Then we go on to talk about the wise men, who were astrologists, and they followed the stars to find the savior. If this wasn’t important, then it wouldn’t be included in the bible. It wouldn’t be as prevalent as it is in the nativity.
To me, this lets me know that there is some truth to the stars. So, I read my horoscope every day.
One of my favorite activities to do with my friends is go stargazing. I love to look at the stars. In the last year, I’ve been star gazing regularly. I’ve started studying planet placements and constellations. I’ve studied the different constellations that we see depending on the season. I’ve stared in awe at the milky way, and have really tried to see the Andromeda galaxy that is just hidden in Sagittarius.
The point is that I’ve really gotten into space.
I find it interesting how I actually got into stargazing. My friend Emma and I first really bonded over our love of ghost hunting. We like to look for the paranormal things of the world. I know that I shouldn’t but I can’t help but be curious. Well, one evening, Emma sent me a Tik Tok talking about a paranormal activity that was happening out in Eagle Mountain. The story was of people who saw a black figure following them around and running around on mountains. They thought, that it could possibly be a flesh pedestrian.
Flesh pedestrians are actually known by something else. This is just a word that Emma and I have made up so that we don’t actually say the real world. Since you’re not supposed to say the real world.
Anyways, Emma and I thought that it would be a good idea to go hunting. Well, for months of regular hunting, and studying of these creatures, we say nothing. Which, in hindsight, is probably a blessing. We have seen other paranormal things at different locations and that’s a story for a different time, but ghosts are real. Anyways, we didn’t see any flesh pedestrians, but we did find a very special place up on eagle mountain where there is no light pollution. A place where you can see all the stars.
It has become a place of peace for me. Whenever days are hard, I go up there with some friends, and we gaze at the stars. It is actually where we took the cool star photo that is attached to this post. This place has become a special place for me. Even through all the changes that have occurred in the past year, our spot hasn’t changed, and there are still stars in the sky.
If you are in Utah, I would recommend that you see the stars in Eagle Mountain. If you don’t want to go there, I also love Antelope Island. I once saw three shooting stars in one night on that island. The only fear there is that wild buffalo run free on that island.
Along with those two spots, Payson and American Fork Canyon also have really great views of stars. I pretty much only go to American Fork Canyon to look at the moon though. Which is something else that I like to watch. In my astronomy class, I had to chart the moon. So I just had to observe the moon every day, which is something that I already do.
I don’t know if I really intended to talk about the stars today, but it has brought me a lot of peace. As I said, life changes, but there are always stars to look at.
