My Top 5 Favorite Movies
I have done a lot of my favorites, and I decided that this week, I would share my favorite films. Here I talk about my top five favorite films. I hope that you go out and watch some. They are all beautiful and timeless. If you do watch them, let me know what you think about them!
Luca
Okay, so my fifth favorite movie is Luca. I know that this is a recent film, but I LOVE it. I cannot explain how much I love it. The story talks about two sea monsters Luca and Alberto. It tells the story of these two and their adventures in the human world. It is beautiful. It is young. It is simple, and it is the most wholesome film I have seen in a long time. The visuals are stunning. The colors are amazing. My favorite part of this film are the dreamscapes that Luca goes on. It will just leave you feeling good and pure and whole. I just think we need more of that. It is rated PG. I would watch this in front of my parents. I would watch this with kids. It is as good film. 10/10. Disney, we need more films like this please.
Like Sunday, Like Rain
Coming in at number four is Like Sunday, Like Rain starring Leighton Meester and Julian Shatkin. This is a beautiful coming-of-age story about a woman who has recently lost everything in life, so she takes up being a nanny to a gifted child. The film takes you through the growth of the two as individuals and as friends. It is heartbreakingly beautiful. I cried. 10/10. The film is rated R and there is strong language used. I would still watch it in front of my parents though. I also need to mention that the ending scene and song will leave you feeling emotions for days.
La La Land
My third favorite movie is the masterpiece that is La La Land. For those of you living under a rock and who haven’t seen this film, let me explain. It follows the story of Mia and Sebastian. Two artists trying to make it in the city of Los Angeles. They fall in love. They learn new things about themselves. They learn things about life. They fight. They cry. They sing. The dancing is incredible. The music is amazing. The costumes and colors are vibrant. There is seriously not a bad thing to say about this film. It is incredible. A must-see. Stop what you are doing and watch it. It has a rating of PG-13. I would for sure watch this in front of my parents. 10/10.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
My second favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It used to be my favorite and then I changed. It is still a very good movie and I love it. it follows the life of Holly Golightly who is an escort living in New York City. She has a dream of meeting a wealthy man and falling in love and getting married. She meets a man, Paul, who moves into her apartment. He wants to be a writer and is currently with an older woman. The story follows the two and how they meet and the turns that their relationship takes. This is, probably to no surprise, also a pretty coming-of-age movie. The film is rated G and I would 100% watch this with my parents. It is also a classic and everyone should see it. 10/10.
Call Me By Your Name
My favorite movie is Call Me By Your Name. For a while, this was my second favorite film, but as I have aged, it has become my favorite. This is a beautiful coming-of-age story about two boys in Northern Italy. In the summer of 1983, Oliver comes to live with the family of Elio in Italy. Elio’s father is a professor and each summer he chooses a college student to come and stay with them over the summer and to study with him. This summer, Oliver comes to stay with them. Throughout the summer we see the way that young Elio grows, including falling in love with Oliver. This film is heartbreakingly beautiful. A timeless classic. I cry every time I watch it. I cried for days after watching it the first time. It will leave you feeling emotions you have never felt. The cinematography is breathtaking. The colors and details that were added to this film are outstanding. Really a 15/10. This film is rated R for language and sexual scenes. I definitely would not watch this with my parents, but you should still watch it. It will make you see things differently.
